When scanning a source directory for updates, a progress window appears which shows how many files there are, and gives visual feedback on how many files have been checked, and how many have been copied. The update may be cancelled at any time by <Command-period>, although the current file will completely fininsh being updated. Depending on the size of the file, it may take some a little or a long time to finish updating.
A typical run which scans a 20.0 MB volume with 2000 files/folders on it takes about 1 minute over AppleTalk if no files need to be updated. Extra time must be added for updating out-of date-files. The amount of extra time depends on the file sizes of the files to be updated. Network traffic is also an issue. The more traffic, the slower Network updating will be. EtherNet updating should always be very satisfactory. Hard and Floppy Disk times are similar to Finder Copy times.
